Christian EideThroughout our preparations we have been seeking advise from people who have skiing expedition experience. Few people in the world can talk about crossing the Greenland ice sheet with more authority than Christian Eide, Norwegian adventurer, expedition guide and entrepreneur. In addition to having crossed the Greenland ice sheet 7 times he is currently holding the world speed record for skiing unsupported to the south pole. He has done 5 of the seven summits and has climend Cho Oyo without oxygen or Sherpas. He is the founder and owner of his own expedition guiding business, Latitude AS.

Christian has generously offered his expertise and we have learned a lot from talking to him. Friday night he took time out of his busy schedule to meet up with me for a few beers and some expedition talk. I was thoroughly enjoying myself, asking questions and taking notes. For those of you thinking of crossing the ice sheet with a guide, you should have a chat with Christian – he is probably your safest bet for a enjoyable Greenland expedition.
