If you choose to go for a solution like the arctic bedding, where your sleeping mats and bag is kept unrolled in a full length cover on top of your sled, the bag will protrude out from the back of the sled. To prevent excessive wear on the end of the bag, you can extend the Paris pulk with a pair of small skis in the rear. Also, you might like to fit permanent elastic cargo bands to the sled.

Nice Idea !!
Let me know how it worked in greenland. We are going to Greenland too in april 2010. And after that we are planning a trip to south pôle. If you insta sleeping kit works well , we might copy it on our expedition in antartica….

We actually had a six day training trip with this setup this winter. The solution worked very well for us. Apart from the obvious advantages of packing and unpacking the camp it also proved to air out the sleeping bags during the hikes.
Several Norwegian expeditions have used this setup across both Greenland and in Antarctica. When Christian Eide’s expedition set the world speed record for unsupported to the South Pole they used this setup with great success.
You can by the Arctic Bedding here: http://www.sportsnett.no/products.shtml?SPN03 . The store is sold out for now, but if you contact them they will be able to tell you when they will have a new batch produced. If you ask for Sjur Mørdre, he might even give you the measurements so you can make your own.
