Air traffic is at a complete standstill in Norway after the dormant Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajokull erupted yesterday. An enormous cloud of volcanic ash is forcing the European aviation authorities to ground air traffic until the situation improves. We keep our fingers crossed and hope the eruption will die out or that the winds will turn north before we are scheduled to depart by airplane from Norway via Denmark to the west coast of Greenland. Personally I could do without the excitement at this stage of the expedition. In any case we are looking for a contingency plan and will keep you updated.
